Since 1870, the Eguren family has been dedicated to growing grapes and producing great wines in one of the most prestigious estates in Rioja. Sierra Cantabria has made its wine under this brand since 1957, from its 225 acres of vineyards. The vines have an average age of 35 years and are situated between the River Ebro and the Sierra Cantabria mountain range. This is a traditionally-styled Rioja, almost entirely Tempranillo with a small amount of Graciano blended in. It has an intense, complex nose of fresh ripe fruit with hints of vanilla and toast and is velvety on the palate with a powerful, elegant structure and fine tannins.
