Considered one of Italy’s most ingenious winemakers, Bibi Graetz has risen from artist to cult winemaker since making his first wines in 2000. Bibi makes his wine in his family home, Castello di Vincigliata, a castle in Fiesole, outside of Florence; he uses only indigenous grapes to make his wine, including Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino, which are grown in vineyards in Fiesole, and Ansonica from the island of Giglio, off the Tuscan coast. His Testa matta, "crazy head" in Italian, is 100% Sangiovese and represents the blend of tradition and creativity. Perfectly balanced, with deep layers which shown an incredible complexity, it expresses the purity, minerality and transparency of Sangiovese from old hilltop vineyards in the heart of Tuscany.
