Tempus Fugit Spirits, part of Anchor Distilling Company, has as its goal to source and recreate rare spirits and liqueurs from the pages of history. One of the founders of Tempus Fugit Spirits created the modern protocol for the highly acclaimed Vieux Pontarlier Absinthe and is also responsible for the creation or co-development of more than 25 European absinthe brands since 2001. When they decided to produce a crème de menthe, they researched manuals in three different languages and discovered that this is a complex spirit and cannot be made with mint alone. Their version macerates a number of different botanicals, then fully distills them, then reduces the distillate with spring water and cane sugar. The result is a crème de menthe that’s packed with pure, fresh mintiness, flavors of fresh herbs and spice, and a silky mouthfeel.
