Jameson is a single-distillery Irish whiskey. Unlike other blends where several whiskeys from either other distilleries or the open market are combined together to reduce costs, the Jameson distilling tradition has always insisted upon producing every component of their whiskey "from grain to glass." Jameson is similar in its adherence to the single distillery principle to the single malt tradition, but Jameson combines malted barley with unmalted or "green" barley. The Black Barrel” is a triple-distilled blend of pot still and grain whiskey that is matured in a mixture of Sherry casks and Bourbon barrels, the Bourbon barrels having been charred twice It delivers the signature smoothness of the Jameson Original but with enhanced spice and nutty notes, vanilla sweetness, and Sherry fruit.
