High West is a producer of craft whiskey and spirits based in Park City Utah. It is the personal project of David Perkins who, after serving apprenticeships with master distillers in both Kentucky and Scotland, moved to Park City in 2004. Double Rye is the newest addition to the company’s portfolio; it blends a two-year rye (mostly rye with a small amount of barley) with a 16-year rye with a high proportion of corn. The extra age and corn provide some extra sweetness to calm the "bite" of the younger rye for a relationship that really works.
