Chambord is a raspberry liqueur modelled after a liqueur produced in the Loire Valley during the late 17th century, said to have been introduced to Louis XIV during one of his visits to the Chateau de Chambord. The Chambord product brand has been owned and produced by the Brown-Forman Corporation since 2006. It continues today to be produced in the Loire Valley, using raspberries and blackberries that have been steeped for several weeks in French spirits, along with Madagascar vanilla, Moroccan citrus peel, honey and Cognac. With its sweet, fruity taste it is an excellent addition to a variety of cocktails.
