Collin Edwards’s first professional success was as a grapegrower and winemaker in California’s Napa Valley, but a trip south of the border with his brother Chris led him in a different direction, to the creation in 2017 of the Cazcanes tequila brand and to renown as an award-winning producer of tequila. Distilled at Tequilera TAP in Jalisco, Mexico by master distiller Francisco "Chico" Jiménez Lazcarro, Cazcanes is made from 100% Pure Weber Blue Agave and natural spring water from the Navichi springs; the agave is grown in volcanic soil and the juice is fermented with wild yeast and distilled in alembic stills. The No. 9 (100 proof) Blanco, a double-gold award winner two years running at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, is clean and dry on the palate with sweet floral aromas and just a hint of black peppercorn.
