A former Cellar Master at the renowned Armagnac estate of Chateau de Laubade for 22 years, Eric Artiguelongue struck out on his own and started blending Armagnac under his own label back in 2005. Working primarily with small growers and distillers with whom he has forged strong relationships with, Eric ensures consistent high quality. Over the last decade Eric has sourced and created a whole range of blends and vintages, allowing him to express all the best aromas and flavors of this exceptional appellation. His VSOP Bas Armagnac is created from 80% Ugni Blanc, 10% Colombard and 10% Folle Blanche. Each grape varietal is fermented separately and distilled only once in the artisanal "Armagnacais" still. It is then aged for five years in Gascony oak from the "Monlezun Forest" and blended with distilled water before bottling at 40% ABV. The result is a soft, delicate spirit with notes of prunes, candied orange peel, quince and very subtle presence of wood.
