Bojan Kobal grew up among the vineyards of Slovenia, so taking a degree in oenology was a natural for him. After working for a decade as head oenologist at the oldest wine cellar in the country and then several years working as part of Angela Muir’s team of Australian and New Zealand winemakers in Slovenia, Kobal set out on his own. Kobal produces both a still and sparkling version of Muscat as well as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, a white blend called Halozan, Blaufrankisch, and this Furmint, which comes from Kobal’s private family vineyards. Kobal's Furmint is light lemon in color with aromas of citrus zest, white flowers and fresh apricot and a palate that features an electric acidity and saline mineral profile highlighted by stone fruit, nuts and herbs.
