Vermillion Wine Company is the second label for acclaimed winemaker Helen Keplinger, producer of those extremely-hard-to-find Keplinger wines. This is a southern Rhone-ish blend driven by Grenache, with some Mourvedre, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Counoise added in. Bursting with layer upon layer of black cherry, wild raspberry, cinnamon, sweet spices, and earth, this wine is distinctly California while paying homage to its muse in the Rhone region of France.
