Trail Marker is the project of husband-and-wife team of Drew Huffine and Emily Virgil, Drew the winemaker, Emily the "boss" (she is alsoo Hospitality Director at LIOCO Wines in Sonoma and Drew, along the way, has worked at such top-flight wineries as Copain, Kosta Brown, DuMol, and Tuck Beckstoffer, where he was head winemaker). Their focus is on producing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from cool climate sites like the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Mendocino Ridge. The Quink vineard is one of the original Chardonnay vineyards in the southern part of the Santa Cruz Mountains; from these grapes Huffine has produced a wine with fresh aromas and flavors of lemon and lime and a persistent and strctured finish.
