Ornellaia, Tenuta dell'Ornellaia's flagship wine, was first made in the 1985 vintage, from an extremely careful selection of the vines grown on the estate. Produced in limited quantities, handcrafted and vinified with the utmost care and attention to detail, Ornellaia has constantly received top ratings from the most influential opinion leaders around the world. A Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, it is a bright and silky red, full-bodied, with firm tannins and a minerally finish; it has a bouquet that is beautifully shaped by dark cherry nuances with spice, leather and tobacco at the back.
