Talbott Vineyards dates from 1982, when the Talbotts (Robert, Audrey, and son Robb) planted their first vineyards and built their winery in the Carmel Valley. Their two key vineyards are the Diamond T, which Robb himself planted in that first year, and Sleepy Hollow, which the Talbotts acquired in 1994, after years of working with the fruit that came from there. Kali Hart is named after Robb Talbott's youngest daughter. Made entirely from estate-grown fruit, the Kali Hart Chardonnay is lush and lively, a pure expression of that particular vineyard. Its rich, inviting nose shows bright tropical notes that continue on the palate, where refreshing flavors of pineapple and honeydew are complemented by vibrant acidity. A generous mid-palate leads to a long citrus and tropical fruit finish with hints of French oak and minerality.
