Brothers Alberto and Antonio Statti represent the fourth generation to farm their land in Calabria, but the first generation to make wine from the grapes they grow. Their first efforts twenty years ago caught the wine world’s attention, and they have gone from strength to strength ever since. At 1,250 acres, their property is one of the largest in the region, with roughly 250 acres under vine, and the brothers are deeply devoted to promoting the cause of grape varieties native to the region. This wine, for example, is a blend of Gaglioppo, Greco Nero, and Nerello Capuccio; it is modern in style with an emphasis on delicacy over power.
