This estate in Piedmont dates from 1820 when Giuseppi Sarotto, the founder of the family, arrived in Neviglie from Barbaresco. He was the first in the family to engage in winemaking, initially producing only Dolcetto. Now, five generations later, Roberto Sarrotto, with the acquisition of a fifty-acre property in Barolo, has taken this family winery into the circle of the most enowned producers in Piedmont. In the early 1990s Roberto and his wife established a second winery, Tenuta Manenti, in Gavi, where this wine is produced. Made 100% from the Cortese grape, this is a light white with zesty acidity and plenty of citrus flavors. It is delicate and finessed, with bright aromas of spring flowers, yellow peach and citrus, and a refreshingly mineral finish.
