David Potter was assistant winemaker at Fess Parker Winery for several years and is currently Director of Winemaking Operations there. In 2007 he launched his first brand, Municipal Winemakers, with a focus on making high-quality wines at entry-level prices. In the fall of 2015, wanting to create more focused, single-vineyard wines, Potter opened Potek Winery, focusing on wines from Santa Barbara’s most exciting vineyards. He named the winery for his great-grandfather, Berl Potek, who emigrated from Romania to this country in 1917. This Grenache, like all of David's wines, was aged in neutral oak and treated as naturally as possible. It is rich and intense, deeply layered, with aromas and flavors of dried cherries, licorice, and mint.
