Piper Sonoma was founded in 1980 by the Marquis d’Aulan, a direct descendant of the Piper family, which has been linked for generations with champagne and premium wines. It was begun as a partnership between Piper Heidieck and Rodney Strong’s Sonoma Vineyards, and was rooted securely in the d’Aulan family’s intent to produce world-class sparkling wines in the new world, using old-world winemaking techniques. Made from grapes sourced from vineyards across Sonoma County, the wines are today produced under the guidance of experienced winemaker Keith Hock. Their Piper Brut Rosé is a blend of Chardonnay (53%) with Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. With aromas of freshly picked berries and tangerine, the palate displays red fruits and citrus, showcasing the bright fruit flavors of Sonoma County.
