Mionetto has been Italy’s foremost producer of Prosecco for more than 125 years. The winery was founded in 1887 by Francesco Mionetto in the small town of Valdobiaddene, just north of VeniceOn the steep hillsides here the delicate Glera grape (formerly called Prosecco) found ideal soil and climate conditions. The winery was left unattended during World War I and suffered heavy damage. Francesco’s grandsons, Sergio and Giovanni, took over in 1961 and began rebuilding the enterprise. Today Mionetto is part of the Henkell Group, considered by many to be the most prestigious sparkling wine company in Europe. Mionetto’s Brut has an intense fruity bouquet with a hint of golden apples. It is very dry, fresh, light in body and well-balanced.
