Lionel Maurel is a fourth-generation winegrower in Nebian, about twenty-five miles northwest of Montpellier; his small (fifteen acres) property is planted to Grenache, Carignan, Syrah and Mourvedre, and all his acreage is farmed organically. His “Yo No Puede Mas” (which translates as “I Can’t Take Any More”) is a blend of those grapes; it has aromas of game and the barnyard, spice and red fruit, followed by more solid dark fruit, earth, and a nice bite of acidity.
