Founded in Limoux in the late 19th Century, Maison Antech has now been a family winery for six generations. It is today run by brothers Roger and Georges (one makes the wines, the other sells them), aided and supported by sixth-generation Francoise Ollier, Georges’ daughter, who is also the new president of the women winemakers’ association “Vinifilles of Languedoc Roussillon. “ The winery currently produces five different sparkling wines, three younger crémant blanc vintages as well as two cuvées deemed suitable for long-term ageing. This “Heritage” is a blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Pinot Noir from vines that are 20-40 years of age; it has an intense nose of flowers and white peaches with a hint of honey, and is brigh and fresh on the palate with a lingering finish.
