Winemaker Cole Thomas founded Madson Wines in California's Santa Cruz Mountains in 2018, building on a decade's worth of experience in Australlia and New Zealand as well as California and with a firm commitment to the making of natural wine. Cole's partners in this venture, viticulturists Ken Swegles and Abbey Chrystal, are equally committed to celebrating the terroir of the Santa Cruz mountains, highlighting the natural freshness and acidity grapes are able to retain here. They work mostly with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, showcasing single-vineyard bottlings as well as blends, and their focus is on energy and elegance, as clearly illustrated in this Chardonnay. "Sunsprings comes from the Kessler-Haak vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills; rich andripe, it offers bright fruit flavors with crisp acidity.
