Sébastien Gimenez, Karine Ambrosini, and Fréderic Corpel first met in oenology school. After having worked separately in a number of different wineries, they joined forces as consultan, with more than forty years' experience among them. Working with some twenty wineries across the south of France, they realized that their clients often wound up with surplus wine, which inspiired them to become negociants, bottling that wine under their own labels. La Rousse had its origins in that business plan. This Sauvignon Blanc s om the Gard region of the Languedoc, an area with gravely limestone vineyards. Given the warm and dry climate here, this is a more fruit-forward Sauvignon Blanc than ones from Bordeaux or the Loire; it has a srprisingly broad nose that features notes of citrus, flowers and green apples and no overripe or underripe tones.
