La Poderina winery is part of Tenute del Cerro SpA, the wine company of Gruppo Unipol, one the biggest Insurance companies in Europe. Founded in 1988, La Poderina is located in the Castelnuovo dell’Abate zone of Montalcino, an area noted for the elegance and balance of its wines. The estate lies southeast of Montalcino’s historic town center and comprises 120 acres, 25 of which are dedicated to the production of Sangiovese Grosso grapes for Brunello. This holiday gift box contains a bottle each of the 2012 and 2013 vintages. The 2012 is relatively light in weight, buoyant and charming, while the 2013 is more intense yet carefully balanced. Both are true to the house style, seamless and elegant.
