The history of wine in the Labruyère family began in the 19th century in Moulin-à-Vent. Their passion for the different terroirs of France has subsequently been handed down from one generation to the next, with the family extending its expertise from the Grands Crus of Burgundy to Champagne via Bordeaux. Their presence in Champagne is relatively recent, dating only from 2012, when the family acquired an estate and vineyards in Verzenay with a history that goes back to 1820. The "Prologue" is their first cuvée and introduces the philosophy of the house: terroir-driven, low dosage to underline the natural ripeness of the grapes, and extended ageing on the lees. Based on the 2018 harvest, this bottling is a 69/31 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Rich and harmonious on the palate, it has complex aromas of flowers and citrus, a smooth palate with a light and lacy mousse, and a persistent yet delicate finish.
