The Cazes family has a long history in Bordeaux, dating back to the second half of the 19th century. In the 1930s Jean-Charles Cazes, who was already in charge of Les-Ormes-de-Pez in St.-Estephe, agreed to lease the vines of Lynch Bages and eventually purchased both properties on the eve of the Second World War; they have been run by the Cazes family ever since. The Michel Lynch wines, the chateau’s tribute to the knight who owned the property and was mayor of Pauillac during the French Revolution, are designed to reflect the diversity and richness of the Bordeaux terroirs and as a celebration of the Bordeaux grape varieties. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, it has a nose of flowers, white peaches and quince and a full palate that expresses all the complexity and richness of the Graves.
