Hyatt Vineyards had its start in 1983 when Leland and Lynda Hyatt planted their first vines adjacent to their home in Zillah, the northern gateway to Washington’s Yakima Valley wine country. It has since become a sprawling 180-acre estate, spread across four distinct sites all within three miles of the original plantings. The four vineyards, which ae differentiated by a remarkably wide range of characteristics, are planted to a mix of varietals, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay, Riesling, Black Muscat, and Zinfandel. This is their Cab, made from grapes from their Rattlesnake Hills vineyard, with small amounts of Merlot and Syrah blended in; spicy and lively, with complex berry flavors, it is lush and supple on the palate with balanced tannins that make it a more supple and less edgy Cab.
