The grapes for this wine come from vineyards in Basilicata, some of which are more than sixty years old. The winery is the project of the Piccin family, originally from Tuscany, who are specializing exclusively in the Aglianico grape. The Gricos bottling, their basic bottling, is aged for about two years, 80% in stainless steel and 20% in used American oak barrels, before being bottled. The wine is deep, dark red, straight to the edges of the glass. The nose offers dark, red fruits and the tannins are very strong, gripping the palate. Flavors of cherries and bittersweet chocolate dominate, with some herbal notes as well.
