For five generations the Lange family has lived on and worked the land in Lodi, California, but it was the fourth-generation twins Randall and Brad who, along with their wines, ventured to take the next logical step and started the LangeTwins Winery. GEN5 is a joint venture between LangeTwins Winery and Trellis Wine Group partner, Vino del Sol. Their Cabernet, made by winemakers Karen Birmingham and David Akiyoshi, is made 100% from estate-grown grapes, almost entirely Cab with small amounts of Petite Verdot, Petit Syrah, and Teroldego blended in; aged only eight months in a mix of French and American oak, it features juicy red and black fruit flavors and is well-balanced, textured, and soft on the palate.
