Twin brothers Bob and Jim Varner produce wines under the Varner label from fruit grown in their own vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains, but they also produce the Foxglove line of wines made from bought-in fruit from Central Coast vineyards, like this Chardonnay made from Edna Valley grapes. This is a stainless-steel Chardonnay with no malolactic fermentation; with exotic notes of pineapple, melon, and citrus blossom, it is supple, forward, and just plain delicious on the palate with no hard edges and a clean, classy profile.
