Born in Santiago, Chile, Agustin Huneeus is one of the few vintners who has dedicated his entire professional life to wine: with a career spanning fifty years, he has made wine in fifteen different countries, but is perhaps best known for creating Quintessa, the biodynamic vineyard and winery he and his wife Valerie own in Napa Valley. Faust is his creation, born of his desire to produce a wine that embodies the most seductive characteristics of Napa Valley Cabernet. The Cabernet here is enhanced by substantial amounts of Merlot, Cab Franc, and Petit Verdot. The wine is rich and juicy, with dark chocolate and cedar spice notes; the rich aromas and flavors lead to a sweet fruit finish.
