Valery Renaudat started his own winery in Diou, in the central Loire, in 1999; beginning with not quite five acres, he now farms thirty acres in total, including vineyards in both Quincy and Reuilly. Like its neighbor Sancerre, Reuilly is all about zingy, grassy Sauvignon Blanc, and you can find no better example than that of Monsieur Renaudat. His version is fresh and lean, with a core of chalky minerality, lime blossoms, and freshly cut grass.
