Croce de Moro is the new project of Leo Felici of the Andrea Felici winery, and Andrea Cavallaro whose family home and farm are in Rosora where the highest Verdicchio vineyards of the Castello di Jesi appellation are to be found. The 25 acres of vineyards they are working with are at 1300-1600 feet, some planted in the 1980s, the rest in the early 2000s. The wine is done in concrete vats, resting six months on its fine lees, and this vintage, the 2022, is the winery’s first release. The wine is crisp and minerally, a classic example of top Verdicchio. The name of the wine is a homage to Moro della Genga, the nobleman who ruled Rosora centuries ago.
