Over the last 25 years or so, the island of Sicily has transformed itself from an overgrown grape juice factory into a hotbed for cutting edge, super-ripe, fine wines . . . and Colosi has been at the forefront of this movement. Intense ruby-red in color, this wine has deep blackberry aromas and a fresh tannic palate; it is fresh, vinous, and loaded with ripe red fruit. A soft, supple Nero d'Avola, this bottle offers terrific quality for the money.
