Emmanuel Reynaud is the fourth generation of wine growers at this estate; he took over from his father at Chateau des Tours in 1997 and now also runs the legendary Chateau Rayas in Chateauneuf, following the death of his uncle Jacques Reynaud, as well as Chateau Fonsalette, which the family acquired in 1997. Grenache Blanc at its best (as it is here) is rich and palate-coating, marked by unctuous flavors of ripe peach, nectarine, pear skin, and almonds. Reynaud’s version is all that and more: rich and yet pillowy, savory and elegant, it strongly evokes the palate of a great white Burgundy.
