There are four Cesconi brothers, and together they work some 52 acres of vineyard around the village of Pressano in the Alto Adige. The key qualities which set Cesconi`s wines apart from the multitude of other examples of these varieties are their concentration, perfect level of extraction and precise balance. This is attributable to the work of the four brothers who have transformed their family estate in the past decade. Whereas the family previously sold all their fruit to the co-op at Lavis, today they are making some of Italy’s most exciting wines. This Lagrein from the Pletter vineyard is richly aromatiic, with notes of berries and black currants, clean and fresh on the palate, with well-balanced acidity and a long, fruity aftertaste.
