One of the oldest estates in Barbaresco, Cantina del Pino dates from the 1920s when Giuseppe Vacca bought the property from his friend, the legendary agronomist and director of the Royal Enological School in Alba, Domizio Cavazza. For many years del Pino operated as part of the prestigious cooperative, Produttori del Barbaresco, but in 1997 Giuseppe’s grandson Renato convinced his father Adriano to start their own label. In 2013 Franca, Renato’s wife), joined the winery. Unfortunately, Renato died in 2020 but Franca, a winemaker in her own right, along with Renato’s parents continues the winery’s traditions and dedication to quality. This is their basic Barbaresco, 100% Nebbiolo; elegant and delicately perfumed, it is a distinctive fragrance of violets and is fully ripe with wonderful structure and balance.
