Based in the Vinho Verde region of northwestern Portugal, Bojo de Luhar represents a partnership between grape grower and winemaker Antonio Sousa and American wine importer Savio Soares. Sousa works exclusively with indigenous grape varieties and farms biodynamically, adding one unusual element to the winemaking process: he adds ground chestnut flowers to the grapes during fermentation to help stabilize the winemaking process. This red is made from a field blend of both red and white grapes, all among the traditional varities of northern Portugal. This is a chillable red exploding with flavor, the perfect thirst-quencher for a warm summer day.
