The Parra brothers of La Mancha, Francisco, Javier and Luis, are united by more than family ties: their shared aim is to manifest to the world the great viticultural and winemaking potential of their native region. The brothers work two vineyards near Las Mesas, growing all their grapes organically and biodynamically. For the winemaking part of things, they have successfully partnered with Juan Antonio Ponce of Bodegas Ponce, together producing three lines of wines: Friend and Farmer, Hand Work, and Gulp/Hablo. This is their “orange” wine, a blend of Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc: some have called it a “cloudy powerhouse,” and it is cloudy, but it is juicy and zesty on the palate, a bit herbaceous, with a savory orange peel note on the finish.
