In 1896 Carlos Serres founded his eponymous winery, one of the very first in the region. Today, the bodega remains family-owned and operated and is one of only a few centenarian producers in Rioja, and it continues as one of the most internationally-renowned and influential wineries in Spain. The vineyards today extend over 150 acres and the winery produces a full range of red, white, and sparkling wines. This is their brut sparkler, AND it is the first legally designated Rioja Brut Methodo Tradicional. Mostly Viura, with some Chardonnay and Tempranillo Blanco blended in, it is quite dry, with lively bubbles and the white flower aromatics that typify Viura.
