Barlow Vineyards, owned and operated as a two-generation enterprise since 1994, is located on the Silverado Trail between Calistoga and St. Helena at the upper end of the Napa Valley, an area well known for producing intense red wine. They produce 100% Cab, Merlot, and Zinfandel and, for several years now, have also been offering this Bordeaux-style blend, Barrouge. It has a wonderful black sour cherry element with hints of sweet vanilla and cocoa. The palate is loaded with dark fruits such as black currents and hints of plum. The wine finishes with soft elegant tannins and touches of roasted almonds derived from the French oak.
