The Caprai family has almost single-handedly revived the Montefalco wine region and its indigenous grape varieties. In 2012 Wine Enthusiast magazine named Arnaldo Caprai “European Winery of the Year.” Arnaldo Caprai founded one of Italy’s leading textile companies in 1955, but he so identified with his native Umbria that he bought vineyard land and settled there in 1971.Son Marco joined the family wine venture in 1987 and is today widely regarded as one of Italy’s best and most dynamic young winemakers, an outstanding representative of the new faces of Italian wine. He is known primarily for his intense reds, so this lyrical white comes as a bit of a surprise. Made from 100% Grechetto, it is crisp and refreshing, all delicate flowers on the nose, with notes of lime and grapefruit.
