This elderflower-flavored liqueur was created in 2007; it was the inspired creation of Robert Cooper, who founded Cooper Spirits in 2006 to produce and market his innovation. Cooper sold the company to Bacardi in 2013 and died three years later at the age of 39. Made from hand-picked blossoms from the elder tree that grows in the foothills of the Alps, it is relatively low in sugar. Praised by the New York Times as having “almost single-handedly invigorated the moribund liqueur category,” it has a bright and fragrant quality that makes it a stunning contributor to a wide range of cocktails. Because it is 100% natural and contains no preservatives, it should be consumed within six months after opening.
