Founded by Yuno Hayashi and named for her grandfather, OKA BRAND offers a range of distinctly Japanese spirits and liqueurs made from local rice spirits, Junmai sake, and hyper-regional botanicals; all are produced by the legendary Tsutsumi Distillery in the Kumamoto Prefecture in Kyushu, Japan. The base spirit here is from 100% rice, distilled six times in a copper-lined, stainless steel pot still, with the botanicals added directly to the still during final distillation. The botanicals, which include Macedonian and Himalayan juniper, young ginger, orris root, and rotating varieties of seasonal citrus, make for bold aromas and a spicy palate tempered by a soft rice sweetness.
