Made using the same secret recipe for more than 200 years, Jim Beam is one of the best-selling brands of bourbon in the world. Jacob Beam sold his first barrel of bourbon in 1795, laying the foundation for an enduring family business; the “Jim” in Jim Beam is James Beauregard Beam, who rebuilt the distillery after the repeal of Prohibition, and in 2005 Frederick Booker Noe III, the great-grandson of Jim Beam, filled the 10 millionth barrel of Jim Beam, keeping the tradition of Jacob Beam alive for the next generation of bourbon drinkers. Old Tub is a new limited-edition bourbon, 100 proof, non-chill-filtered, and bottled in bond. The recipe is supposedly what inspired, or at least set the path for, Jim Beam Bourbon. The story goes that back in the mid to late 1800s, before glass bottles had become the industry standard, folks would come fill up their jugs of whiskey from a tub that held the current stock. This is a delicious bourbon with robust oaky notes and a full-bodied clean finish.
