Located in New York’s Hudson River Valley, Tuthilltown is the state’s first distillery since the repeal of Prohibition. It was founded in 2003 when Ralph Erenzo and Brian Lee converted a historic old gristmill into a micro-distillery. In 17 short years it has grown to a company of 50 employees with a stunning visitors’ center and an onsite restaurant. Hudson Whiskey is one of Tuthilltown’s many products, and this is their five-year bourbon, aged five years in new American oak barrels. The result is a buttery blend of vanilla, citrus, and corn bread on the nose, with notes of cashew butter and caramel on the palate.
