Located in Hye, in Texas Hill Country, Garrison Brothers distillery was founded by Dan Garrison in 2005 . . . which makes it the oldest legal whiskey distillery in the state. Their bourbon is made from organic corn, wheat and barley, the wheat and corn being grown locally while the rye is imported from the Pacific Northwest. The bourbon is aged in charred American oak barrels, which gives it rich, deep aromas of butterscotch, nutmeg, and vanilla and a fruity palate with a smooth finish.
