Dating from 1896, Lustau was originally an Almacenista, a modest estate with small holdings that sold most of its wine to large exporting bodegas. It was not until the 1950s that Lustau became Emilio Lustau SA and joined the ranks of a select group of exporters of Sherry. This is a classic solera-aged brandy de Jerez, aged three years in Amontillado sherry casks; it has luscious date and fig aromas, opulent spice on the palate, and a finish showing candied orange peel, ripe plums, and sweetened espresso.
