Since the late 1880s, over decades and sometimes skipping generations, the Amadeo family has been creating amari and liqueurs, first in their ancestral home on the Amalfi Coast and now, in the person of Francesco Amadeo, in Washington, D.C. Amadeo opened his distillery in D.C. in 2012, naming it in honor of his grandfather. “Luna” is bitter apéritif liqueur created following the “Italian Bitter of Turin” style dating back to 1894. With a base of two different distillates and 16 selected botanicals, it balances bitter and sweet, with notes of orange, chicory, rhubarb, and vanilla with a lingering finish.
