Back in 2010, Yuseff Cherney was working at San Diego’s Ballast Point Brewing Company, but his real passion even then was distilling. Six years later he made the transition from brewer to distiller and founded the Cutwater Spirits Company, San Diego’s first distillery since prohibition. And while Cherney swiftly and successfully introduced a full line of traditional spirits, he is now known primarily as the primary mover behind the canned cocktail revolution. Anheuser-Busch acquired Cutwater in 2019. Cutwater’s offerings are real, spirit-based cocktails made with the same spirits produced in their distillery and made with the ingredients you would actually find in a bar-made drink. Their mango margarita is made with their own award-winning tequila, a juicy burst of mango flavor, and a hint of lime: the perfect refreshier on a hot summer day.
