Dating from 1837, this cognac house has been in the Vallet family for six generations. Their vineyard holdings currently comprise some 300 acres in both the Grande and Petite Champagne districts, and the family controls everything, from work in the vineyards to the marketing of their products. Specializing in traditional production methods, the family chooses to distil only Ugni Blanc grapes and age their Cognacs much longer than required by law. This VS is their entry-level expression, a Petite Champagne blend that delights with its freshness and youth. There are bursts of summer flowers on the nose, followed by rich, ripe fruits, and pear and sweet cider dominate the palate, with just a hint of almond leading to a long finish.
